What'S New In Version 2
Notify User v2 is a major update that adds multi-recipient notifications, Microsoft Teams integration, read receipts, and a complete sent notifications dashboard. Here is everything that changed.
Multi-Recipient Notifications
You can now send the same notification to multiple users at once. The notification dialog includes a Recipients list where you can add as many users as needed. Each recipient gets their own independent User Task.
You can also assign a User Task Group in addition to individual recipients. A separate group task is created alongside the individual tasks.

@Mention Auto-Detection
When you type @username in a note, Notify User automatically detects the mention and pre-fills the recipient list. This works with both exact User Names and partial Full Name matches.
For example, typing @JOHN.DOE please review this order in a note will automatically add JOHN.DOE to the recipients when the notification dialog opens.
Priority and Due Dates
Each notification can now have a Priority (Low, Normal, High) and a Due Date. Priority defaults to Normal. Overdue tasks are highlighted in the task lists.
Microsoft Teams Integration
Notify via Microsoft Teams using two complementary methods. This is available for users with the Plus subscription.
-
Group channel webhooks - Configure a webhook URL on each User Task Group to post notifications to a specific Teams channel using Power Automate Workflows
-
Individual DMs - Individual recipients receive a pre-filled Teams direct message that the sender reviews and sends. Multiple recipients are combined into a single group chat. No webhook or admin setup required
-
Combined delivery - When both a group and individual recipients are selected, the group gets a channel message and all individual recipients get a combined Teams chat
See the Teams Setup page in Getting Started for configuration instructions.
Read Receipts
When a recipient opens a task for the first time, a Viewed At timestamp is recorded automatically. This lets the sender know that the recipient has seen the notification.
-
The timestamp is set only once (first view)
-
Only the assigned recipient triggers the read receipt
-
The sender opening their own task does not trigger it
-
Group tasks without an individual assignee do not track views
-
The sender opening a task assigned to themselves does not trigger it
The Viewed At field is visible on the User Task Card and in the Sent Notifications list.
Sent Notifications Dashboard
A new My Sent Notifications list shows all open notifications you have created. Access it from the User Tasks Activities cue on your Role Center.
The list includes:
-
Task title and source record
-
Assigned recipient or group
-
Priority and due date
-
Viewed At status (empty means not yet viewed)
-
Completion percentage

Claim Workflow
Group tasks can now be claimed by individual members. When a user claims a group task:
-
The task is reassigned to the claiming user
-
The Original Group is preserved for reference
-
The group assignment is cleared
This is useful when a task is sent to a team and one member takes responsibility for it.
Source Notes FactBox
The User Task Card now includes a Source Notes FactBox that shows all notes attached to the original source record. From this FactBox you can:
-
View existing notes on the source record (Note preview, Created date, User)
-
Read full note text via the View Full Note action
-
Add new notes via the Add Note action (opens a dialog)
This means you can continue the conversation around a task without leaving the task card. If the source record has been deleted, the FactBox shows an empty list with actions disabled.
